In its January/February issue, the Harvard Business Review (HBR) focusses on happiness. The editorial asks “Why write about happiness when so much of the global economy is still in a funk and people are manifestly unhappy across the world?” Their immediate answer is “because emerging research from neuroscience, psychology and economics makes the link between a thriving workforce and better business performance absolutely clear”.
I have been studying and teaching business for a couple of decades. The focus of my studies has been reconciling business thinking with the teachings and principles of my Faith. So I am very happy with the growing focus on happiness that can be found in business thinking and related disciplines.
